I am 37 weeks and ready to be done with swollen feet and legs, sore back and tight clothes!
This past week I had my regular check-up and had a great time. I guess this one was a little different because they did another ultrasound to measure the baby and fluid. My tummy has been measuring farther along for the past 2 months, so they wanted to be sure everything is still going well in there, or if I’ll be having a 10 pound baby. Oh heavens. I didn’t have an ultrasound with the other two at this point, and I wish I had. It was awesome! I had so much fun seeing everything so much bigger! The 20 week ultrasound was fun, but everything was so much smaller – fingers, toes, legs, brain, heart, stomach. I could really see it all this time!
Anyway, the baby didn’t accidently make its debut with the gender, so it’s still going to be a surprise.
Here’s what I did find out:
Its body is measuring right on week-wise, the femur is measuring at about 1 week further, and the head is measuring 2 weeks larger.
From all the measurements they guess its about 6 lbs. 10 oz right now.
Everything is looking great!
So, what is making me look so huge on the outside? They measured the amount of fluid, and they like to see between10-20 and I have 26. That would explain it! Nothing is wrong with having more, it just means I get to be uncomfortable longer, and I’ll loose that much more ‘weight’ in the hospital. If I start into labor now they won’t try to stop it. That’s ok with me.
One thing I didn’t expect was that she flipped into the 3D mode on the face, so we got some really good pictures of the face! Way fun! And exciting! I know this one’s got good, chunky cheeks and pouty lips. Just like my other cuties. This one looks like it has a bigger, or more flat nose though. It could have been getting squished, but I’m pretty sure it’s bigger. I’m excited to get to compare these pictures with the real deal so soon! Yay baby!
You can see with this one that the baby just might have a little dimple in its chin, which I LOVE. Soren had one when he was born.
Oh, we just can hardly wait to give it loves! So soon!

I've been able to get these 3D ultrasounds with both of my babies so far and I love them--I stare at them all the time while I'm pregnant :) Glad things are going well despite the discomfort--you look GREAT though :)
So close! That's great that you got to do an ultrasound! I can't believe how much number three looks lime the other two. Looking forward to hearing when the baby gets here!
