What a great weekend!

My parents and sister Alison flew into Denver late Thursday night... and it was non-stop fun from there! Because last week I was able to go get the van we could all fit in a vehicle together, no need for them to rent a car. It was so good to have them here! We spent the next day around in Boulder, Dad had a meeting with his future boss when they move here in the near future, and the evening around our house. We went to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner, yum yum, to celebrate Mom and Dad's Anniversary. Saturday we drove up to Fort Collins to be with the Johnson's for Calista's baptism. What a great day to be with lots of family!

Sunday started out to be an ordinary one until about 7:00 when our friends that live in our complex called Dan and asked if anything was wrong. Apparently there were 7 police cars on the street and an armed officer at the bottom of our stairs. Dan went down and asked him if there was anything we should be alarmed about. He said everything was alright for now. About 10 minutes later we got a knock on the door, it was that same officer. He said plans had changed and we needed to evacuate as soon as we could. There was a man on the back side of our apartment building who had barricaded himself in his apartment and was armed. So we loaded everything up as fast as we could and left. Our friends let us come invade their apartment for 2 hours. There where SWAT teams, spot lights, the whole deal. They finally got the guy and let us back in our apartment at 9:30. That was definitely not our typical Sunday evening.

With Monday being Labor Day, we all went to the Denver Zoo with the Johnson's and Hyde's. It was a fun packed day and we were all dead tired afterward. The camel even smiled for the camera! We loved having visitors in our home! Soren especially liked it...someone else to hold him, read books to him, make faces at, play with and give him yummy food. What more can a little boy ask for?
