So I mentioned a while back that we were getting a house. Well, it's been gotten! :o)

We closed last Thursday, and are extremely excited to call it ours! There are some things that need to be fixed before we move in, so we're taking the month of May to do updates and slowly move things in. We're looking for someone to take over our apartment lease (otherwise it'll cost an arm and a leg to cancel it) starting June 1. So please spread the word to all your friends out there looking for a nice *big* 1 bedroom apartment to live. I've made several posts on craigslist, but please oh please contact me!! *There's my great big plug, now back to the house*
First off I want to say how FABULOUS our Realtor - Michelle Barber is! She helped us new-bies so much, and was always available to answer our questions. She's been doing this for 10 years, and is great at it! I first met her about a year ago and had just kept in contact over the phone until a few months ago when we decided to start the home searching. She really listened to what we were looking for, and showed us some great options. Soren loved being with her and would get so excited and say her name over and over when he saw her. It cracked me up every time. We are excited that we're in the same neighborhood and will still get to see her whenever we want! What a great new friend we have made! We highly recommend you contact her if you're looking to buy or sell a home!
It is tri-level with 4 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with another unfinished bathroom for future fun. Our whole apartment we live in now probably fits in the main level - front room, dinning room and kitchen. Here are a few before and after pictures of what things looked like before we called it home.
Here is the front room and dinning room
We decided to help fix this awkward room that used to be the garage. We thought the wood floor broke it up into 2 weird rooms, so with help from a young man in the ward, he and Dan took out the floor and put it back in only the dinning area. That way the carpet could be through the length of the front room.

Here is the kitchen. We are still pretty set on re-doing the kitchen. Although just having a fresh coat of paint on the cabinets helps with the appearance, they're pretty junky. However, after a 2 hour consultation with a kitchen designer we've decided it would costs our other arm and leg to get all new. boo. We want to get it done before we move and start living there, but we'll see what happens.

This is in the master bedroom. There were some special sorts of wall paper throughout this place that I won't miss one bit. I'm looking forward(and a bit overwhelmed) to the task of choosing what color I want the rooms to be. It'll be so nice to not have to look at white walls anymore!! Good-bye to our renting days!

View from the back. We have a nice big yard, which is so awesome, but the down side is that it is mostly all dirt. At least now we'll get to choose where to put things like our garden! :o) Yay, a garden!
